Glue is a thing of the past: The new GVLP series from BIVAR
Anyone who’s ever had to mount vertical fiber-optic cables on a densely populated circuit board knows the drill: glue, heat-shrink, align, and hope for the best. BIVAR is now putting an end to that—with the new GVLP series. The idea is as simple as it is clever: the retaining mechanism is built right into the board-mount posts. The light guides are simply pressed into the circuit board and stay in place—without any adhesive, without hot-shrinking, and without any additional process steps. This saves time during assembly and reduces variation because the result is consistently reproducible.
The best part: The GVLP is based on the proven VLP platform. This means the geometry and handling remain familiar; it’s compatible with standard SMD LEDs, available in multiple lengths—and all at a cost comparable to the classic VLP. More convenience without breaking the budget.
Within the BIVAR portfolio, the GVLP bridges the gap between the cost-optimized VLP and the high-end LPV/LPR solutions featuring ZeroLightBleed™. It truly comes into its own wherever space is at a premium: small enclosures, dense layouts, and short distances between the LED and the front panel—from industrial control panels to measurement and communication technology to embedded electronics.
In short: reliable light guidance, simply press-fit, and you’re done.
