Drainage Current

A leakage current is an electrical current flowing in an undesirable current path under normal operating conditions [IEV 195-05-15; International Electrotechnical Vocabulary (IEV)].

- A distinction is made between:
- Protective conductor current
- Contact current when the current flows through the body of a human or animal, and
- Patient leakage current in medical technology
