Who or what is UL?


UL stands for Underwriters Laboratories Inc.® and is one of the world's leading product safety testing and certification organizations. It tests and certifies a wide variety of materials, components and end products for their operational safety, especially with regard to potential personal injury and the development of fires.

UL maintains a directory of more than 3 million products that are publicly available through online databases.
